The Library

The George W. Bush Presidential Library will house all the official records, photographs, and artifacts of the 43rd President. Built with private funds and donated to the nation, this library will be the place where scholars come to study and learn about the key decisions President Bush made during his presidency.

The library will also contain the recordings and transcripts of interviews with senior Bush Administration officials collected through an oral history project conducted in partnership with the University of Virginia's Miller Center of Public Affairs. To complement this material, the George W. Bush Presidential Library will expand the oral history project into a web-based program that will gather additional primary source material from key participants at all levels of the Administration.

The Freedom Collection

Until now, there has been no central repository for the papers and oral histories of political dissidents struggling to bring freedom and opportunity to their nations. The George W. Bush Presidential Library will provide a secure home and a place of study for these important papers and histories—another compelling reason for scholars and journalists from around the world to visit the Center. The Freedom Collection will grow year by year as new voices are raised in the cause of freedom around the world, helping to keep the Archives vibrant and relevant for decades to come.

Future Work of the Institute

The future work of the George W. Bush Institute will be documented and preserved in the Archives so that scholars can study the evolution of effective policy and the lessons to be learned from the practical application of Institute research in the real world.
