ArchivesThe George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum will be administered by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). The archives will include President and Mrs. Bush’s presidential and gubernatorial records, the papers of Bush cabinet members and key decision makers as well as artifacts, audio, video and photographic materials.
MuseumThe George W. Bush Presidential Museum is designed to provide a compelling, interactive experience for all visitors. Central to the museum experience will be an understanding of the historic events that occurred during the Bush presidency and case studies of key decisions made by the President that promoted the fundamental governing ideals of freedom, opportunity, responsibility and compassion. The museum’s permanent exhibit space will encourage visitors to explore key policies and decisions of the Bush administration and connect those decisions to the foundational ideals. In an interactive decision theater, visitors will have the opportunity to make their own presidential decisions. The permanent exhibit space will also feature sections on the First Family, Life in the White House and a replica of the Oval Office. While at the museum, visitors will also explore temporary exhibits, a museum store and a cafe. Social and meeting spaces will be available as a resource for educators, academics and members of the community.
After private funds are raised to construct the facility that will house The George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum, NARA will oversee the ongoing operation and maintenance of the facility and its contents. See Also: |
